Nourishing Nibbles - Tuesday Night Tastings and Talks

Do you want to eat healthy, but you’re not sure what foods to buy?

Do you think that cooking healthy fare is difficult?

Are you trying to avoid sugar, damaging oils, or gluten, but wonder what is left to eat?

Do you want to lose weight, have more energy, and think more clearly?

Do you think that eating healthy means you have to sacrifice taste?

Please join us for the series – Nourishing Nibbles: Tuesday Night Tastings and Talks, where you can sample healthy foods, get recipes for the dishes you like, and find out why these nourishing foods will help you and your family feel better, have more energy, and avoid sickness and disease. Our bodies run on the fuel we provide. When you eat from nature’s plate, your body will thank you in unmistakable ways.

Series Titles:

Snacks and Treats (Sep. 23) – Refined sugar is eating a hole in our health! It causes leaching of minerals from our bones and teeth, sets us up for diabetes, feeds cancer, and much more. Come enjoy some tasty samples and find out what you can eat from nature’s plate to feed your sweet tooth without damaging your body. When it comes to snacking, it is easy to just grab the closest (and maybe not the healthiest) foods we see. Find out how to snack healthy - giving your body a blast of nutrients and energy. You’ll get healthy snacking ideas and can finally relegate that vending machine to the basement!

Grains and Greens (Oct. 7) – Many people steer clear of grains and greens because they believe they are difficult to cook. Some whole grains take just a few more minutes than it takes to make pasta, and the rewards to your body are enormous. Greens, like Kale, spinach, chard, and broccoli provide our bodies with abundant minerals, vitamins, and enzymes to repair, nourish, and cleanse itself. They are nature’s intended foods, but many people avoid them because they had not-so-tasty experiences with them as a child, or they are unsure how to prepare them, or make them yummy. Once you begin eating greens regularly, your body will crave them – and that is the best craving you could have.

Proteins and Veggies (Oct. 21) – Not all proteins affect the body in the same way. If you are vegetarian, you want to make sure you are eating quality proteins and not overdoing the empty carbohydrates. If you eat meats, find out which are the best to consume and what you should be looking for at the grocery. There will be samples and recipes for both vegetarian proteins and a few meat samples/recipes as well. Eating a rainbow of veggies helps us provide our bodies with all of the nutrients it needs. Come sample some delicious dishes that incorporate the many pleasing colors of nature.

Sauces, Soups, and Condiments ( Nov. 4) – Sauces can really liven up a dinner, a soup can be a well-rounded meal all by itself, and condiments add variety and taste to many grains, veggies, and proteins. Once you begin cooking and eating healthy foods, sauces, soups, and condiments really help to cut down on time in the kitchen by providing an array of tastes to complement and enhance the basic foods. Come try samples for yourself and take home a few ideas and recipes to diversify your kitchen.

Registration must be at least one week in advance to allow enough time to cook and enough food for attendees.

Price: $35 per Tasting, $130 for 3 tastings, or $120 for the entire series. Cost covers food, space, supplies, cooking time, recipes, and vital information for your health and wellness. Minimum number of attendees for each tasting: 3, Maximum number of attendees for each tasting: 12

About Holistic Health :

In an age of healing where the current model of medicine has 70% of the U.S. population is on at least one prescription drug, there is no better time to get involved in your own health and wellness. Our bodies are amazing machines that are capable of drastic healing. The human body is always trying to attain a state of homeostasis or balance; it just needs the right tools to achieve this. It is not just the chemical processes in the body that affect health, but what our brains and emotions are contributing. We are whole people, not just individual parts put together like a puzzle. Each part of us influences every other part. If you are worried and stressed all the time, your body is releasing hormones that affect the ability of your organs to function properly. If you are eating allergenic foods, or foods full of toxins, it causes inflammation throughout the body that can lead to major illness such as diabetes, cancer, and heart disease. Inflammatory foods also affect how well your mind works, causing foggy thinking, poor judgment, and more stress – thus creating a vicious circle.

I invite you to take part in your health! Get to know your body, your mind, and your contributions, whether negative or positive, to your body’s endeavors to maintain homeostasis. Become empowered through education, sharing, connecting, and healing. Pain, inflammation, and illness are our bodies’ way of telling us that we are out of balance. These workshops will help you learn to listen to your body, make connections, and begin the healing process. Your body communicates subtly at first with little aches and pains, chipping nails, dry skin, etc., then as time goes by, it “yells” to you with major illnesses and chronic pain. Don’t let it get to that stage. Take charge now, start listening, caring for, and creating a dialogue with your body, mind, and spirit. Join us for these fun, interactive, and informative Tuesday Night Tastings, and invest in an ounce of preventions so you will not have to pay for a pound of cure!
